4/10/2023 0 Comments Lightworks 14.5![]() With the same OBS recorder and Lightworks editor the uploaded videos look bad compared to the ones uploaded in March. Now even with the new more powerful PC, aoc g2460pf 1080P 144hz monitor, gtx 1050 ti ssc gpu, i7 8700k, 960 evo nvme. In the past, (earlier this year) right after uploading to YT a file looked horrible but watching it a couple 3 hours later while artifacts are visible, (during movement), the faster the movement the worst the greater the artifact effect is but drastically improved from the initial upload the quality. This is when the artifacts are more visible especially when in motion but at this point not enough to be disarming. ![]() I complete the rendering save it to the folder then watch the file. It still looks very close to the recording. ![]() When all sequences are complete I then begin editing, (removing load screens and splicing the sequences together) to make them as seamless as possible. My MO, when recording I save the recorded game sequence to a folder I then watch it to verify I got everything correct, The sequence is as close to game plays visual quality as it can be in my mind. Most, (blotchy effects) occur in dark areas or when driving the dune buggy or airboat. Understand, the older vids have artifacts but nowhere near what I see now. If it would help I could provide links to a recent upload and one from earlier in the year. If GOP is shortened and bitrate is not increased, quality decreases. ![]() With all other encoder settings unchanged and using an encoder which targets average bitrate, when shortening GOP, average bitrate has to be increased to get the same quality. One parameter (among others) which influences bitrate extremely but doesn't change quality much, is lenght of GOP and this has been changed, also for the presets of the Free version.Įdit: Just to clarify, because my last sentence above might be misleading. Lightworks uses the MainConcept AVC/h.264 SDK, as far as I know, with a different parameter set, but exposes to users of the Pro version only min/avg/max bitrate and keeps the rest under the hood. Not all parameters shown there influence quality vs bitrate/file-size vs encoding speed, but many. Lightworks didn't change the target bitrate for the AVC presets much over the last versions.Īdjustable h.264 parameters depend on encoder used, this shows free x264 encoder options: Regarding bitrate, the major problem is Youtube.
